The survey was conducted between December 2022 and January 2023 among 438 people. Among them, 75.8% confirmed that they held one or more NFTs at that time. The report also revealed that of the remaining respondents, 2.5% had ever held an NFT, while 20% had not.
Further analysis of the findings shows that once people enter the market, they rarely stop at owning NFTs. At least a quarter of NFT holders identify as avid collectors, owning 51 or more NFTs, or 26.5%. Additionally, 18.7% of holders own 11 to 50 NFTs, while 25.8% own 2 to 10 NFTs. Only 4.8% own a single NFT, indicating that they rarely stop participating in an NFT after their first purchase.
The report concluded that the growth potential of the NFT market rests more on adoption, with projects making it easier for people to gain first-time experiences that are critical to NFTs. In addition, the growing diversity of NFT projects attracting different groups of people and interests also contributes to the continued growth of the NFT market.
The popularity of NFTs is supported by a growing number of items using them, such as NFT collections from well-known brands such as Adidas and Starbucks. Seamless NFT experiences like Reddit’s avatar collection can also help encourage technology adoption.
The survey provides useful insights into the current state of NFTs in the crypto community. It’s clear that NFTs have become an integral part of the portfolios of many cryptocurrency holders, and the market has huge potential for growth. As NFTs continue to grow and meet various needs, more and more NFT holders may become avid collectors.
