Shiba Inu’s Blockchain Layer-2 Shibarium has just announced a beta but has been spotted by the community as a copy-cat from another project. The SHIB price is also down 10% in the last 24 hours.
Like Kyptos reported, Shiba Inu “hidden” the development of layer-2 Shibarium in the third quarter of 2022. This is a layer-2 solution built on top of Ethereum, oriented to the development of games and metaverse applications.
Shibarium will help increase the use of tokens in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, including SHIB, BONE and LEASH. Specifically, BONE will become a transaction fee payment token on layer-2, and also reward validators.
Finally, the project closes the beta release schedule this week to take advantage of the Layer-2 craze that has not yet cooled down.
However, the project’s community was excited for a short time, then “excited” when it discovered that Shibarium’s code was “copy-cat” from another project. Even the dev team is so “lazy” that they don’t even change the chainID. (?!)
A veteran member of the community posted on the project Discord that:

“Chain ID is the simplest thing that any blockchain developer must know when deploying a certain chain. Using an existing Chain ID is proof that the project team is incompetent because the blockchain will not be able to function as it should.
The user is not interacting with your chain, but the chain with that ID.”
Finally, this user raised the question that:
“Wow, it’s like Shibarium copied Rinia’s code and forgot to change the Chain ID’s name?”
And here is a response from the Shiba Inu team:
“There is no proof that this beta is a fork from Rinia. And in this blockchain world, the code gets forked all the time.”
In addition, a validator also expressed that this is only a beta version, there are still bugs that can be fixed:
“And even if it was real, this code is still a beta version. It doesn’t help if it’s copy-cat from another project or not.
We’re in the era of free and open source software, everyone builds from a piece of code that already exists.”
