Version 2 (v2) tokens will be airdropped 1:1 to current Gala (GALA) version 1 (v1) token holders. The developers stated that after the release of the v2 tokens, the v1 tokens no longer have any value.
Gala said the v2 token is part of a broader upgrade to Gala’s smart contracts on ethereum. The upgrade aims to be more secure and will introduce token burns with the goal of making them more valuable in the future.
Burning is the act of permanently removing tokens from the supply by sending them to addresses not controlled by anyone, which creates bullish momentum when demand increases and supply decreases.
Gala Games is one of the largest gaming-focused crypto projects with a market cap of $360 million. Users can play different types of games built on the platform, and tokens serve as the main medium of exchange between users in the ecosystem.
