Blockchain technology company ConsenSys has announced the release of another NFT series to celebrate the Shanghai/Capella upgrade on the Ethereum blockchain. The collection is titled “Ethereum, Evolved: Shanghai” and includes two editions—a commemorative edition and an open edition.

The Anniversary Edition will be airdropped to Ethereum core developers as a token of appreciation for their contributions. Meanwhile, the open version is available to anyone with a MetaMask wallet who wants to mint for free, excluding gas fees.
The Shanghai/Capella upgrade is a technical milestone that will simultaneously upgrade the execution layer and consensus layer of Ethereum, allowing withdrawal of pledged ETH. This activation will reduce barriers to entry on the retail and institutional side, promoting greater participation, decentralization and cybersecurity. This upgrade, along with The Merge, is an important step in the evolution of Ethereum’s roadmap and a major milestone in the history of the internet.
ConsenSys is celebrating The Merge with a series of artistic NFTs called Regenesis. The collection includes two sets of NFTs – a commemorative NFT set introduced to the Ethereum core developer, researcher and customer community, and an open version NFT set accessible to anyone with a web3 wallet. Regenesis is forever associated with the birth of PoS Ethereum, as it had one of the first NFTs minted on block 1.
