Binance Accused of ‘Plagiarizing’ AI NFT Generator

The community warmly welcomes Bicasso – the new AI NFT generator from Binance, the world’s largest exchange by trading volume. This tool is in beta stage and has a minting limit of 10,000 NFT, e.g. Bitcoin Magazine previously reported.

However, just a day after the announcement, Korean designer @heyproject7 accused Bicasso of “copying” his product.

“I can’t imagine Binance copying Chatcasso, this is my BNB Chain Hackathon.”

Chatcasso is the initiative of the first prize winner of Hackathon, and accepted an exclusive interview with BNB Chain on January 25, 2023. @heyproject7 real name Young Hwi Cho, co-founder of Hunt Town, a Web3 platform enablement project. In the interview, Cho introduced Chatcasso as a platform that allows users to easily create NFTs through AI technology. When the user enters text to describe the desired picture, Chatcasso will generate the corresponding picture and automatically activate the NFT generation function.

Chatcasso was created to help users realize their ideas in the form of NFTs. At that time, Cho shared will continue to develop the Chatcasso project and integrate the tool with the NFT Mintclub publishing platform. Also, due to the network’s high traffic and affordable cost compared to other blockchains, the team intends to implement an NFT generation platform on BNB Chain.

However, Cho expressed disappointment that Binance’s new NFT generator bears many similarities to his competition product.

Not only does it work, but the name Bicasso is almost identical to Chatcasso, making the Twitter community suspicious. While many people expressed dissatisfaction, some people said that Binance’s behavior cannot be called “plagiarism” because Chatcasso is nothing new compared to popular AI painting tools.
